Key Expiration

The programs we have mentioned in this document also provide for key expiration. This means that, as of a date you specify, the key is considered invalid, and cannot be used anymore.

This is an excellent idea to use, as it makes it harder for a would-be snooper to figure out and use your key, making it more difficult for the same snooper to read your email, or pretend to be you.

If you choose to make your key expire, we recommend making it expire on the same date as your driver's license, to make it easier to remember that your key will expire, and to make a new one.
