Getting PGP For Windows

  1. Verify that you already have WinZip installed on your system. You can simply look through your ''Start'' menu to see if you have anything entitled ''WinZip''. If you do, you may proceed. If not, please download and install WinZip using these steps:
    1. Follow this link: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/simtelnet/win95/compress/wz32v701.exe
    2. Run this installation program, accepting the defaults on all of the options provided to you. In other words, simply click ''Next'' until you click ''Finish''.
  2. Follow this link: http://www.pgpi.org/cgi/download-wizard.cgi
  3. Answer the questions on the screen. If you are trying to follow this document, we recommend choosing the freeware license, as you most likely will not be using this product for work.
  4. Click on the button ''Show latest version''.
  5. Make sure that the version you have selected is the latest version of the program (as of the time of this writng, it is version 6.5.1), and that the version does not show the words ''command line'' anywhere in the name.
  6. Click ''Show download sites''.
  7. At this point, you will be shown a list of links which you can use to download PGP. Click on the one which lists a country (either your own, or one close to you), and save the file.
