Configuring PGP For Windows

The following steps perform two functions:
  1. They get PGP ready for daily use with Windows.
  2. They generate your initial key pair.
That being said, let's get on with the generation.
  1. Click ''Start'', ''Programs'', ''PGP'', ''PGP Keys''.
  2. Click ''Next''.
  3. Type in your Name and your EMail Address.
  4. Click ''Next''.
  5. Click ''Diffie-Hellman/DSS''.
  6. Click ''Next''.
  7. Click ''3072 bits''.
  8. Click ''Next''.
  9. At this point, you can make this key automatically expire in the future, something which is good for security. You may choose not to do this by clicking on ''Key pair never expires''
  10. Click ''Next''.
  11. Now, using the suggestions above, make yourself a good, secure password, and type it into the program.
  12. Click ''Next''.
  13. Now the program will work for a few moments, and generate your key. Do not click ''Cancel'' during this time.
  14. Once it is done, click ''Next'' until you can click ''Finish''.
  15. Click ''Finish''.
