Installing GPG manually with Debian GNU/Linux
If you are running the stable (2.2) version of Debian, then you can download GPG 1.0.1. If you are running the unstable version of Debian, then you can download GPG version 1.0.3.

When you have downloaded the package, you should have a file named ''gnupg_1.0.1-2.deb'' (the version number may be different, but it should begin with ''gnupg_'' and end with ''.deb''). You can install this package with the command:

  dpkg -i gnupg_1.0.1-2.deb

If you have downloaded a version of GPG which is incompatible with your version of Debian GNU/Linux, then you may not be able to install it. In this case, you may receive error messages about dependencies. If this occurs, then you should download a version of GPG which is compatible with your version of Debian, or build GPG from source code.
